فضيحة مصرية في مطار زامبيا بعد احتجاز طائرة خاصة قادمة من مصر، الطائرة على متنها 5.7 ملايين دولار بالإضافة لـ 127 كيلو جراما من الذهب، بالإضافة لعدد من الأسلحة التي كشفت عن أنواعها السلطات الزامبية.

Addressing the press this morning, DEC director general Nason Banda said two planes, one of which was carrying the cash and the gold have also been seized by the commission. While confirming that 10 people were currently in detention, comprising a Zambian, six Egyptians, one Spanish, one Dutch, and one Nevesian, Banda refused to disclose their identities. Banda revealed that the seized aircraft, bearing the code name Global Express T7-WW, concealed an impressive stash of cold, hard cash, a staggering sum of $5,697,700. “This particular aircraft was seized by ourselves and other law enforcement officers. We also put in our dogs as canine division was here. They went on the aircraft to ensure that we know what was in there.” “On the same aircraft, we also seized five firearms, namely pistols. We also seized seven magazines,” informed Banda. 126 rounds of ammunition, 602 pieces of suspected gold, weighing 127.2 kg have all been seized. As media hounds sniffed for more details, Banda revealed that the seized aircraft had originated from Cairo, Egypt, and was intended to head to Zambia, with plans to return to Egypt based on the manifest Banda further explained that the other seized aircraft, belonging to a local airline named King Air B90 was also seized as investigators had established a link to the matter. Regarding the suspected gold, Director-General Banda explained that Ministry of Mines personnel were present during the operation to perform a preliminary test. “As regards to the suspected gold, we had the Ministry of Mines personnel with us, but they just did their presumptive test, so they will now get down to verify what kind of gold it is or if it’s gold at all,” he stated. Addressing the legality and origin of the seized items, Director-General Banda confirmed, “As regards to the money, we are certain that these are genuine dollars, because the Bank of Zambia came in and they’re the ones that counted.” Banda said investigations were still ongoing to determine the extent of involvement and charges while promising to give a comprehensive statement once everything is unveiled. على خلفية ما جرى احتجزت زامبيا 10 أشخاص بينهم 6 مصريين، أما بعد نشر الخبر بتوسع على المواقع المحلية والعالمية، ففوجئ الجميع بحذفه من على كل المواقع المصرية.
بعد التدقيق قالت السلطات الزامبية إن الذهب المصادر خليط من معادن مختلفة، غير أنها لم تنفي وجود أسلحة وملايين الدولارات والأسلحة في الرحلة.
وفق البيان الإعلامي الزامبي فالطائرة هبطت يوم الـ13 من أغسطس، الطائرة تحمل رقم التسجيل T7-WSS ومسجلة في جمهورية سان مارينو، وتشير البيانات الملاحية إلى انطلاق الطائرة من مطار عمان بالأردن مساء السبت الـ 12 من أغسطس.
وصلت الطائرة إلى مطار القاهرة قبل أن تعاود الانطلاق في صباح اليوم التالي لزامبيا، الطائرة تديرها شركة تسمى “Flying Group Middle East”، ويقع مقر الشركة المشغلة للطائرة في مدينة دبي بدولة الإمارات المؤسسة عام 2020.
أجرت الطائرة 361 رحلة غالبيتها كانت القاهرة نقطة انطلاق أو عودة، احتلت دبي المركز الثاني بعد القاهرة بنحو 26 رحلة ذهاب وعودة.
